The Cor Men’s Ministry began in 2023 as an initiative to facilitate regular gatherings of Catholic men through a flexible framework of prayer, formation and fraternity to foster Christ-centered brotherhood and help men grow closer to Jesus. Though Cor is sponsored by the Knights of Columbus, the Ministry is open to ALL CATHOLIC MEN!
Today, many men are more isolated, disconnected and lonely than ever before. Studies show that many have no close friendships. Yet, God designed us for community. We are not meant to walk the journey of faith alone. This is particularly true of younger men (under age 30) who grew up in the domain of video games and social media for which there is very little interpersonal associations. Loneliness also exists in senior citizen communities among widowed men as well as those who are often forgotten because they cannot leave the house for health reasons. Even those of us who recently retired from long careers may have finding a purpose in our lives in a different location and home from the one at which we spent decades of our working lives.
Cor is structured to help men intentionally and regularly come together to build authentic brotherhood. These gatherings are not just about deepening our knowledge of faith — they’re about strengthening our interior lives and bond as brothers, encouraging each other to live the life God has called us to.
Our initial Gathering of your 2026-2027 year will take place on Thursday, 13 August at 6:30 pm -- immediately after the Holy Hour for Vocations. It will be at PAC Hall, and features a "Picnic Dinner" of hamburgers, hot dogs and side fixin's. We will enjoy some prayer and faith formation, but the focus for this Gathering is fraternity -- meeting with our fellow Catholic parishioners in fellowship in the Holy Name of Jesus Christ.
