Cor Gathering of 9 December 2023

Our December Gathering  exemplified the Men of the Word Bible Study to analyzing Scripture readings to enhance our Advent preparation for the Second Coming of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.  We compiled a list of Scripture passages that are read during Advent, but the Gathering focused on the Book of Isiah, chapter 40, versus 1 through 11.  The highlight of this passage is verse 3, "A voice proclaims: In the wilderness prepare the way of the LORD!  Make straight in the wasteland a highway for our God."

We did a "Lectio Divina" by which we reflected on Isiah's "Promise of Freedom," including several minutes of silent prayer, meditation and contemplation by which we focused our attention on the presence of God.
